Review Policy

How FERS Planner reviews content and rules

The editorial and technical review policy for FERS support content and future rule-engine changes.

Trust comes from review discipline: official sources, dated pages, deterministic tests, and clear disclaimers.

Review cadence

Support pages should be reviewed when an official source changes, when product scope changes, and before a new calculation rule is shipped.

Pages include a last-reviewed date so readers can see whether the content has been recently checked.

Rule changes

A retirement rule should not move from content into the calculator until it has a named source, typed input and output, and unit tests.

The UI should not contain hidden eligibility logic. If the product needs new behavior, it belongs in the deterministic rules engine.

Corrections

If a page is unclear or a source changes, the page should be corrected before related calculator output is expanded.

Corrections should preserve the independent-site disclaimer and should not imply affiliation with OPM.
