Independent FERS planning for federal employees

Why FERS Planner exists, who it is for, and how it stays separate from official government benefit decisions.

This is a private independent website, not a government website and not affiliated with OPM.

Who this is for

FERS Planner is built for non-USPS federal employees who want a clearer planning workflow before they make retirement timing decisions.

The current version focuses on regular immediate retirement, MRA+10 immediate, MRA+10 postponed, and deferred retirement. It does not support disability, special provision, USPS/PSHB, or CSRS component cases.

What makes the product different

The product is subscription-first because saved planning work, scenario comparison, and review history matter more than a one-off estimate.

The design intentionally avoids looking like a government website. Trust comes from clear boundaries, source links, disclosures, and tested calculation behavior.

Built as an independent planning tool

FERS Planner is maintained as an independent software product for educational retirement planning. The product does not rely on anonymous testimonials, invented credentials, or government-style branding to create trust.

The trust model is deliberately practical: clear scope limits, no SSN or employee ID collection, visible source links, dated review language, and tests around calculation behavior.

If a public founder biography is added later, it should use real details and should not imply OPM, agency, legal, financial, or benefits-office authority.

What to do with results

Use results to organize questions, compare dates, and understand planning tradeoffs. Do not treat them as OPM determinations or personalized financial advice.

Before acting on a retirement decision, confirm details with your agency benefits office, OPM materials, and qualified professional advice where appropriate.
